Kånken, the most classic daypack from Fjällräven was introduced 1978 and it was an instant success. The idea was to develop a backpack that helped school children to carry weight in a more efficient and correct way; it should fit two A4 folders and be produced in an extremely durable material. A detachable seat pad were added so that children could take a rest wherever they wanted.
